A conveyor belt up to the Alhambra?
-
University Rector proposes new form of transportation to and from the Alhambra
It's a fact. The topic of discussion yesterday at Granada's International Congress on Cultural Conservation and Restoration was whether or not to build a conveyor built up to the Alhambra. The idea, presented by the University of Granada Rector Francisco González Lodeiro, would be to help disperse the tourists throughout the city. The rector claims that the Alhambra masks Granada, and tourists should be encouraged to see not only the fortress but also the Cathedral, for example. By putting in a conveyor belt, tourists could move more quickly to and from the Alhambra and it would ideally connect to the very city center (the Capilla Real for example). So we're thinking it'd be something like one of those in the airports?
Responses to idea varied, some thought it fairly reasonable, others outrageously far-fetched. And you? A human-transporting conveyor belt? It's a thought.
