Granada's famous hotel closes temporarily for reforms
Don't worry, it's not closing for good. The Hotel Alhambra Palace, one of Granada's most luxurious hotels, will be closing its doors for six months starting Nov. 11. The palace, which doesn't fall too short of its name, is looking to up its rating from four to five stars. To be given the fifth star, the hotel will add a gym, a lookout point, a spa, several master suites and a parking lot. Once given the go-ahead by archaeologists, the nearly €6 million project will begin, with the Junta de Andalucía contributing about €1.5 million.
So if you've had your hopes set on spending a few nights up there at the Alhambra Palace, you're up to wait a bit longer. But remember, they are adding numerous master suites. So get your reservation in on time and maybe you can snag a brand new one.
But there are plenty of much better hotels to choose from .
